Trouble - Part 3
Scripture Reading - 2 Chronicles 32:18,20-22 KJV
18 Then they cried with a loud voice in the Jews' speech unto the people of Jerusalem that were on the wall, to affright them, and to trouble them; that they might take the city.
20 And for this cause Hezekiah the king, and the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz, prayed and cried to heaven.
21 And the LORD sent an angel, which cut off all the mighty men of valour, and the leaders and captains in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. And when he was come into the house of his god, they that came forth of his own bowels slew him there with the sword.
22 Thus the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria, and from the hand of all other, and guided them on every side.
Greetings fellow believer in the Mighty Name of Jesus today’s lesson will continue to speak on the subject of “Trouble”. In our first lesson we spoke on being in “trouble” because of disobedience to God. This is the same thing as saying all people are in “trouble” when they are walking contrary to God’s Word. Yes, the “trouble” may not always be physical because mental problems are “troubling” just as much as financial problems are “troubling” too. We also spoke on “Trouble – Part 2”. In that lesson we highlighted that many people are in “trouble” without knowing why they are in “trouble” or what to do when they’re in trouble. In those instances when you don’t know what to do next, our best advice is to call upon the “Name of the Lord Jesus Christ” and He will hear your call, then proceed to help you out of your “trouble”. In this lesson we will briefly teach on what to do when “trouble” comes to you for no fault of your own. We (ihlcc) wish that life wasn’t so controversial down here on earth but it is. We notice in today’s reference verses that the king of Israel (Hezekiah) and the children of Israel were walking in the fear (reverence and respect) of God inside of God’s Will for their life. However, an evil king who only wanted more wealth and more expansion of his kingdom was bringing them “trouble” by the threat of war. Yes, war is not God’s perfect will but when prideful (arrogant, uncompromising) leaders refuse to submit to godly reason and fair compromise war is inevitable. Thus, the king of Assyria, Sennacherib, initiated the “trouble” and didn’t realize by being outside of God’s Perfect Will he and his kingdom were in “trouble” themselves because they were causing “trouble” for someone else and the someone else were the children of God. Although the law of sowing and reaping is true, in the sense that, “If you “sow trouble” you we “reap trouble” according to Proverbs 22:8 Easy-To-Read Version “Those who spread trouble will harvest trouble. In the end, they will be destroyed for the trouble they caused.” Yes, it is wrong to cause “trouble” and it also wrong to have “trouble” come to you with no fault of your own. However, let us notice what king Hezekiah did to get out of the “trouble” he was in. First he gathered a prayer partner that had a strong (good, solid) relationship with God. We see that Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah prayed and cried up to heaven. It is said, “When it comes to praying to God about a troubling situation upon the earth that will affect others you need at least two people, one to pray and another to listen.” Selah. Yes, prayer is always a two way conversation between God and man. So in this case Hezekiah represented the heart of the nation while Isaiah represented God’s man (His personal servant) for that nation. Notice in verse 20 two people were involved and two things were done. First they prayed to God which was basically communion with God about their huge problem (the trouble) then after that the scripture said they “cried to heaven” which basically means they asked for God’s help. Yes, in the midst of the “trouble” they called upon the Name of the Lord looking for deliverance from God and He (The Lord God Almighty) delivered them. Yes, we notice that God in this case (instance) didn’t just strengthen them for battle He actual fought the war for them. Yes, as we stated earlier those who start “trouble” are in “trouble” themselves for being evil and they shall be judged by God which will put them in “big trouble”. Yes, this decision to “trouble” others, even a whole nation, caused the nation of Assyria to lose their army and lose their king as a result of the decision to “trouble” others. The key to this story is not the death of the “troublemaker” but rather the swift deliverance for those in “trouble” when they called upon the Lord God for His help. We do notice a consistent principle that teaches, “No matter what the trouble is the answer is always God!” The Lord never brings “trouble” but He alone is the solid Deliverer from all “trouble” caused in this earth. Although, God never creates “trouble” you can rest assured that He knows how to remove your “trouble”. Sometimes God will let you know exactly what you need to do to conquer (overcome) the “trouble” you are facing. So, please call upon the Name of Jesus no matter what “trouble” you face this day because The Lord is our Help and Deliverer from “all trouble” we face upon this earth. Therefore, if “trouble” comes your way it can go back to the source from which it came by calling upon the Name of Jesus in your moment of distress. Always remember God delights in you so it is His Good Pleasure to deliver you from “all trouble”. Amen!
